Ubuntu is installed and its folding, I'm having trouble with overclocking and I can't get the overclock to show up in the os if I set it manually. Bios shows 4.7 but i7z shows 3.5 and I get real low PPD (like 15k). I tried the pre-made overclock of 4.6 but was able to manually bump it up to 4.7 and adjusted the voltage and it shows up as 4.7 in i7z.
I'll let it go as it is for a while and see if the ppd increases, but how can I get the oc to apply in the OS when I set everything manually? I'd like to tweak a few more things besides vcore and multiplier, but if I do the overclock doesn't work. I'm done for tonight, but at least its folding
Update: Was able to get it overclocked manually, but i could only minimum settings. Got it at 4.7 at 1.256 and 63c. I7z shows it at 4.7 while folding, but somethings not right, been 3 frames and only 16000k ppd on a 6097 at 10ish tpf. Ill leave it going all night and hope it improves and mess with it tomorrow. Got more reading to do on this board cause it has tons more setting the my msi. Its late, im tired and going to bed, lol. Been working on this non stop since 5pm.
update: Things are looking up:thumb: The 6097 hung so it must have been a bad WU. I dumped it and picked up a 6098 and its at 27500 ppd as of this morning. Installing thekraken this morning, adjusting ram timings this afternoon and will be trying for 4.9 tonight. Looks like I have a really good chip. been running almost 7 hours at 4.7 1.26 volts and its only 55C. Hopefully by then end of the moth I can be pumping out close to 30k. I starting to love this IB despite the hiccups at 1st
