The year is coming to an end, hopefully I will drop the current 7646 after the break-off, it's gonna be close though, would be nice to start with a big drop right off the bat.

Come January the SB-E Hexe's will be added to eligible hardware in one of the i7 cats (i7-1) if I understand things right. I'm looking at what I could do about that, what board to get and what not. I won't jump on it but I could have it running by Feburary if I decide early enough.
Sporadic, you mentioned a while back that you might get a 3770K, how does that look now? A 3770K and a 3930K would be very good to have in the i7 cats.

Oh, and Happy early New Year, team! (5.5h left here)
If I don't see you till '13, thanks for a fantastic year, past and current members.

I'm off for today.drunken.gif

Yeah, I might just sell my 2600k, 3770k and go all the way for a 3930k. It will probably take a month or longer before I can RMA this board. Crappy end of 2012 for me, I hope 2013 will be better.

Happy new year folks thumb.gif

Gonna suck for any team w/o a SB-E on their team. i7 and nv categories dominate as is. I'd give numbers but the TC stats site is borked.... again.
Hmmmmm. So I can run my 3930k right now? OK here is what we will do for January, I am going to put linux (ubuntu 12.04) on this computer. I will put windows on the 3820 and use it for now. Instead of getting a 3770k I will instead get another 3930k. I already have the mobo and all I will need to do is sell the 3820. I was going to get a new mobo to go with the 3770k so this will be cheaper or about the same to do. Mako will run the GTX 680 that is getting 43k PPD on the 7623 unit it was folding in the 3820 along with the 580 (for my games) when I get it back from RMA later this week.

So this will give the team the following:

i7 - Sporadic E 3930k @ 4.7GHz (maybe higher later) 16GB of RAM @ 2133MHz
i7.2 - Arvidab 2700k @ 4.9GHz
Cat 3 - Labnjab 3570k @ 4.8GHz
nVidia - MakoKid GTX 680 @ 1200MHz
AMD - Arvidab temp or Beerpower?
Wild - juano - GTX 460 @ 911MHz

That will be sweet. Alright I am off to swap rigs. I will check in with PPD numbers for the 3930k as soon as I can.

My 460 is at 911MHz, fyi. That's good for a TPF of 8:03 on a 7263 and 8:10 on the other 726X. Hopefully that will still be good enough for 2nd next month. 4thkor's 560 is faster than me but I think I'm competitive with the other two 560s

Happy new year team! biggrin.gif

Thinking about switching Mako over to the GTX 680 and using the 580 for my gaming since it should play my games on high settings. From the looks of it my 680 Lightning with a good OC should do better than the top super OCed 580s. I will test it today and see what happens.

I won't be dropping anything till update 1, got a 780x this afternoon, but its gonna be a nice 15k point jump on the new month

I plan on eventually trying to push it to 5 ghz, but I'll probably wait until March during chimp challenge to do it, when we have a month off of tc. I'm getting nice temps at 4.8 so as long as its not a voltage hog I should be able to do it

Giving my main rig a real work out tonight. Just bought the doom ultimate collection on steam for $3.50. Killing monsters like its 1995, lol. I hope my rig doesn't crash. This game is what got me into FPS, although back then easy was hard, now nightmare is a cakewalk compared to BF3 multiplayer. After I warm it up with doom I'll probably play some BL2 biggrin.gif

Nice. Your 460 kicks some butt for sure. I am sure you will hold your own in the wildcard. I wonder how my 900MHz (stock) EVGA GTX 560 would do against 4thkor? If it wasn't in the dedi I would find out.

Going to have reinstall linux after the dedi finsihes the 764x it is working on. Something did not go right. It is folding but I have no desktop. I have no idea why. Anyways 59k PPD on a 764x, 70k on a 7809 and 60k on an 8056 so far. Not bad. Damn chip gets hot so I need a cooling upgrade sometime soon.

Way to crush my upgrade plans. tongue.gif
If not for TC, why would I now get a 3930K? Maybe I should buy myself a 3770K now. thinking.gif Or save some cash...

Happy new year team! biggrin.gif

I'm very satisfied with the performance of your 460, just keep it going. thumbsupsmiley.png

Stability is king, so mess with it while there is no TC sounds like a great plan.

Happy new year folks thumb.gif

Anyways 59k PPD on a 764x, 70k on a 7809 and 60k on an 8056 so far. Not bad. Damn chip gets hot so I need a cooling upgrade sometime soon.

You're running a H100, right? Time for real water-cooling methinks.

Oh, and who needs a desktop GUI, just do everything through a terminal. thumb.gif

And don't know about Beer, he hasn't been on OCN for two weeks. I PM'd him a few days ago, but no reply yet. Let's hope he's just away on holiday and can get back in the AMD seat this month. I had severe troubles getting the temping 6970 going properly in December (fold a unit or two and the just stop), I finally cracked it though, turned out to be something other that the card.
The rig it was in is an old, one long overdue for retirement. So I popped it in together with a 3570, gained ~500PPD by just that too. smile.gif And it's currently working like it should.
