Motherboard took a dive

Thread Starter
As I was taking apart my computer today I had to take the motherboard out and reseat the heatsink. So after I took it off, I was lifting the motherboard up to secure the backplate on again, and the motherboard literally took a dive. It still powers on but haven't tested it yet infront of a monitor. Has this happened to anyone before? Should I be worried .

This happened to my old motherboard

It no longer worked, but that's probably because of the cracks and bits that came off due to the fall.

It depends on the hight from which you dropped it and whether you can actually see damage I think.

Luckily it was on a table. It most likely hit the North Bridge or IO part only since those two things are the highest off the motherboard. I did not see anything fall off though.

TEST IT!!! If it doesn't work, RMA it and say that shipping ruined the board and you only noticed the problem now

I would consider that Fraud as none of the companies that sold it, shipped, delivered, manufactured it had anything to do with it not working. I don't think they advertised "Drop from 2 feet and the board won't break!"
