Newegg sale on C300 128GB should I?

I'm building a new 2500k SB rig next month and I'm currently trying to cherry pick the parts as they go on sale. I got the email blast a few minutes ago which knocks off like $30 on the C300 128GB model. Which seems like a great deal to me.

I've been looking at this model for a while. Would it be the way to go for me? Or does anybody have news on other models that run better with SB builds? ATM I'm running a 5 year old C2D platform with a run of the mill 7200RPM boot drive.

I heard news about the new Vertex 3 coming, but it won't be out until Q2 or later.

So, you're building a 2.5 grand rig, and you're worried about saving $30? Is that right?

No, don't buy it. Chances are, next month the prices will drop to that level anyway. With a little bit more luck, you may be able to snatch either a C400 or Sandforce SF-2000 base drive, which will be faster. Though I don't remember when those are supposed to come out.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: LOL, my bad. Mistook 2500K for the budget. Little late right now...

Either way, my recommendation remains the same.

2.5 grand? How do you figure?

Getting the 2500k for $180 @ MC
ASUS Pro = $180
GTX 570 = $350
SSD = $250
8GB RAM = $110ish
Silver Arrow = $70 (if I even need it)
Xonar ST = $200

Total = $1340

Have PSU, have fans, have case, have 3TB storage.

i5 2500k, not $2500k, that would be $2.5million anyway lol, not 2.5 grand

if it was me i'd use something cheap for now and wait for vertex 3

Hmm perhaps you are right.

I just found this link http://www.anandtech.com/show/4086/m...s-415mbs-reads

The prices look promising. If anything it may drive down the price of the current generations a tad.

That's why I love OCN
