Gainward GTX 580 - Page 3

Hi, when i swent for my 470 i was pushed towards the gainward, and it was about £50 more than the asus, when i got home i checked and rma is not in this country but abroad, something to think about when purchasing somethimng expensive is do they have a base in your country?
Am happy with the gainward card i have.

He did look a bit clueless.
Perhaps you just ask him to explain more of ''better capacitors/design'' to see how far can he go

Anyway, certain models of certain manufacturers do use better capacitors, eg Colorful's one GTX460 uses Sanyo Poscap capacitors, MSI's one GTX460 uses Hi-C capacitors, Galaxy's one GTX460 uses NEC's Tokin Proadlizers.

But I do not think Gigabyte's reference GTX580 uses higher grade capacitor than Gainward's reference unless Gigabyte has produced a non-reference design GTX580. BTW, Gainward has several versions of GTX580. One is the reference design (reference cooling and speed). Another is reference cooling plus a slightly higher factory pre-overclocking. Then, there is one with custom cooling plus slightly higher pre-overclocking.

That's another way of selling overstock products. DON'T trust a salesman.
