Quick! Need advice!

Theres this guy on another forum that is selling an i7 930 and Asus Ramage Extreme 3, all fully boxed and covered with warrenties and what not for £350 with £20 postage. Now for a folding/gaming rig, would this be a good price to pay?

No RAM is included though.

I dont know what prices average in England but those prices would be close to what they sell here. Maybe $10-$40 more.

If that chip is 4Ghz stable you will see 20-30k ppd from it. It will drop a little with your 460 folding also.

Most games are dual core.. some few will work with a quad. So its def overkill for gaming, but folding i7s are beastly.

I think its clocked at 4.3 under water according to the seller. I'm a bit off put by the fact there is no memory included but from what I can gather a Rampage 3 is a top tier Asus board.

Its one of the top of the line boards like the Classy. I'd love to own one. My Rampage II has served me fine for over 2 years with i7s over 4ghz the whole time. If it were to die, I'd prob get the RIII.

I know it's just semantics... but to be clear all games will work with a quad if it works with dual, infact should run better cause game can use 2 cores and windows can continue sucking in the background without you noticing!

EDIT: On Topic: Yes it would kickass for folding and gaming!! i7's do it all, sandy bridge literally does it ALL.
I think sniperXX meant that some games will UTILIZE quadcore :-)
Maybe this was obvious, if not I'm glad I could help :-)
