Thread Starter
i just recently bought a MSI R4770 Cyclone..
im not sure but i think my idle temp is too high..
i read some post/thread that their idle temp is around 42C..
for the first week my idle is around 52-56C..
but now i have 60-62C idle temps.. i never oc'd the card..
my room/ambient temp is aroung 29-32C..

is my idle temp normal for my room temp?..
i tried reseating the card but still nothing happens..

thank you so much..

Check if your card is clocking down in 2d mode while idle.

The coolermaster elite 335 isnt the best of cases for airflow but it should be sufficent, what voltages is your cad running at? when they are released from the factory the chip is usualy between Two voltages, yours could be at the top end of that voltage scale. i supose you are just a bit unlucky, do you get any BSOD's at all?

Seems a bit warm , but yeh your ambients are 32c , you have a descent case , so I imagine airflow is´nt a problem. You could try replacing the tim ?

Edit , I just checked my 2D clocks they are running @ 157/ 300 CCC 10.4 later drivers upped the 2D clocks.

If you downlaod a Program Called GPU-Z and go to the second tab at the top that sais sensors, if you scroo, down you will see one called VDDC, that is your voltage.

i don't know whats best for your card, it realy can vary between GPU models, whichever you get the best frame rates with but upgrading the driver wont solve your heat issue im afraid.
