Hey im a newbie on the board so firstly hello !

Ive got a problem with my new build my cpu is a brand new AMD phenom II x4 970 black edition & a cheap ASRock N67C-S UCC MicroATX AM2+ motherboard.

All is well-ish, when i boot up or go into bios my clock speed is 803mhz, and i have absolutley no clue how to mend it, any help would be great.

Sorry if its a bit vague, any more info you guys need to help ill be sure to add:o

That is from cool and quite.

Stress your cpu with a stress test program and check to make sure it's clocking up to the correct speeds under load.

If you don't like it you can always disable it in bios.

You most likely have 'Cool 'n Quiet' on.
It reduces the CPU's speed when you don't need the full power.

If you run a demanding program, it will boost it's speed.

Is that your motherboard? Cause if it is, the CPU you have isnt supported.

Good call, doesn't look like it supports anything above 95w.

I tried to run dawn of war 2, a pc game, and it was really really awful performance, my old cpu of a amd x2 5000+ played it much much better. along with that im running 4gig ddr 3, and a ati hd 5750 graphics card so theres no way it should suffer performance wise.

As for my motherboard its similar but this is it http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Product/47046/Asrock-motherboard-N68C-S-UCC-AMD-AM3-AM2--DDR3

Also i found this under further inspection http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherboards/366989-official-asus-m2n-sli-m2n32-sli-761.html

And i saw it seems to be a problem for more than just me !, but im not very tech savy with this new cpu so any simpler steps would be great if possible?
