Thread Starter
hey everyone here are my specs..
-AMD Phenom II 1055T Six Core Processor 2.80ghz
-ASUS M4A88T-M Motherboard
-evga gtx 285 oc edition video card
-4gb ddr3 memory
-windows 7 64 bit os
-cool master haf case with 3 fans
-corsair 750w power supply with 80 plus
-22 inch benq led monitor

i am looking to invest in a new vid card within the next 2-4 weeks.
i will be only using one care and wont be doing sli and i will keep the same power supply as is...

i am stuck between the gtx 470, 480 , radeon 6950 , but i know there are other options to. i am trying to keep my budget within $275-$400.
also i am looking for a card that gives good eyecandy and all games will run smooth without any bottleneck..i am actually getting ready for crysis 2 so thats why i want a card that supports dx11.

also if i choose to get a 470 for example , i am hearing alot about heat and power consumption...is there any way i can make the card run a bit cooler but still get maximum performance...

im really confused what card i want...anyone can help me that would be great..just looking for a good dx 11 card..oh yeah theres a tigerdirect near by me..

thanks...god bless..

^^^ this. A 570 is what you need. Better performance and less heat than the 470. Neck and neck with the 480, but again, less heat (but does have a little less RAM).

For a single card in that price range I would get a GTX570. The offer the best price for performance IMO in the high end card range.

For ATI I would look at the 6950 or 6970.
