Can you tell D1 for D2 on the box?

Question is in the thread title. Can you tell D1 for D2 on the box?

Okay update, I was digging around and found this on another forum

"I've received information on two fronts. First, most manufacturers have released BIOS updates that enable additional voltage for the PLL, which can result in higher multipliers being achieved on D2 Stepping chips. This confirms what Grumpy and Rick were reporting earlier.

Second, I've also been told that the D1 Stepping chips are pre-production runs, and apparently all retail chips will be D2 Stepping. Combined with the information above, D2 Stepping chips should be able to hit higher multipliers than we originally showed in our review. I'm waiting to receive a D2 2600K chip, so hopefully I can compare the results in an upcoming motherboard review.

So......for those of you waiting for D1 Stepping chips, don't bother. Just get a D2 and make sure you update the board to the newest BIOS, adjust the PLL Overvoltage setting, and you'll be good to go. Hopefully hit 5.0GHz"

I was under the impression that only D2's would be retail.
That the D1's werent going to be sold..
Could be wrong here.

Not saying this source is correct. But it says both will be sold.

D2 is retail only. D2 OC better than D1 with an update that was made available last week.
