Alien hands, that's a new one

Usually they're compared to the hands on the cover of L4D2.

But alas, things are not well.
What started as a simple screw tightening has ended in a complete pile of disappointment.

The chair has informed me that it does not wish to be seen in it's final hours and I will respect it's wishes.

However, seeing as my origins are Chicago based, I found it fitting to cover one failure with another.

I really suck with photoshop, but I'm just that bored, and this needed to be done.

Ok I lol'd at that poor poor chair pic.

So did you give up on fixing it or?

You should be able to see if the bolt broke off in there, or at least see the piece it threads into. If you can't see it at all, maybe it threaded piece just broke off and pushed back in farther...

If the bolt isn't broke off in there, it might be pretty hard to fasten that armrest back on there in a Non-ghetto and secure way. Unless the wood or whatever material is pretty stiff around the hole where the threads used to be, a lag bolt of 1 or 2 sizes larger might be able to screw into it and get some grip.

If the bolt did break off, well that would take some patience, to drill it out precisely. If it was drilled out right you could probably even keep the original threading intact and just find a replacement bolt of the same threading + appropriate size.

With the quality of chairs these days (excluding multiple $100 ones) It's either not worth fixing or going to be quite a pain..

Also please submit that pic to the ghetto rigging shenanigans thread.

I'm not sure if the problem has been resolved but I'll just throw this in anyways. Try this trick.
