Just run ya a longer bolt in there.

Cba to read all 7 pages, but have you checked the inside of the chair where it screws in? Could be that what the screw threads into is no longer in place so you're just turning it into the fabric and doing nothing.

Friends and well wishers, we are at an apex.

Things were not looking good for Ol' Rusty. His hinges were broken, his once soft and mushy flesh was now a hard and matted mess, and his morale was at and all time low.

He looked to me to help him.
For me to salvage him.
For me to save whatever parts of him still resembled man's greatest office ally.

Alas, my efforts were for naught.....

Until today.

Because while the spirit of Ol' Rusty may be gone, his aura forever hovers around my humble rig.
His hope and ambition for all that is brown and comfortable will live on.

In his footsteps, we have his spirtual brother.

Ladies and gentleman, allow me to present.

BLACK THUNDER.

On the highlighted bit I would say soft & mushy >>> hard & matted = your-old-chair-will-probably-breed!

Love your humour AND your news-posts!

Prayer:
May ol'Rusty find some girly-chairs who have an "accepting socket" for his "hard-matted" being, and, after such a union, may he go "gently, soft and squishy" into that dark night.
May a hobo find him, and, in the finding, discover a new level of "concrete is not giving me heamhorhoids anymore", and in the discovering, may the hobo come gently to his rather rickety knees and proclaim, " ALL HAIL TO CHOCOLATE-TESTING-OVERCLOCKERS!".

And that, my friends, is all!

Or some such...
I got WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too into that!

Hey I have the same chair as you... But mine is the black leatherish one.

I remember getting a tool with mine too, but I lost it.
