if your going to be playing crysis and are intent on AMD/ATIi would say if you can afford it get a 6950 or even a 6970, 2 6870's would be good as the scaling is excellent however thats also more money and more power/temps

EDIT: dont get me wrong the 6870's are really good mid range cards, but if you want to be able to push the games a bit further then the 69xx would be better option, or as i said to crossfire 2 6870's

It is a good card and I think you would be happy. The other card to consider in this is the GTX560 that should be out this month in the same price range (rumor). This is based on price range.

Here is a 6870 review for you

I agree with Adam on the 6950. Especially since you should be able to flash the bios to make it a 6970 (essentially). And it's only $50 more than the 6870.

Amd? 6950. Nvidia? Gtx 570.

If I was going up in price from the $250 I would consider the 6950 and the GTX570.

6950 against a 570 would be the 570

6950 flashed to 6970 against 570 would be whichever you felt liek choosing

6970 against 570 would be whichever you felt like choosing.

both the AMD and Nvidia are great cards, just your choice which you want i think.....

not sure about the size for cases etc, as i dont really know about case sizes etc, you would have to see the dimemsions for the card and see the dimensions for your case.

for eyefinity then the 69xx would be definately better due to having 2gb of GDDR5 vs the 6870's 1gb
