Is it worth new TIM

Hi people,

Just a quick one,

Running a XFX XXX 5770, which is back on stock clocks.

Doing some tests and temps seem a little high, was going to re-apply the TIM.

Should I bother with these temps?

On full load on Auto control (CCC Auto Fan Control) it is hitting 78 Degrees
Did Various tests and when got the fan set at about 90% which is very noisy and annoying it drops down to about 68 Degrees.

70% is not too loud and gives me temps of about 72 Degrees.

Shall I bother re-apply the TIM tomorrow morning, PC needs a clean anyway.

Thanks for any help

72 is totally fine for a gfx card. Hell most cards can get up to 90 and be fine. If you are however taking down your pc and feel the want to reapply tim it will 90% chance better your temps as stock tim for gfx is horrible.

cool ok, well have got most of the fans running quite fast so draws dust in a fair bit so was going to give it a clean out anyway and do some cable management cos kinda just tucked everything on the other side of the case out of the way but didnt do it neatly, Ill give it a whirl see how it goes, might go get some ram sinks from maplins or something

does the 5770 have ram sinks? or you mean your actual kingston ram?

sorry for late reply been playing bad company, dont think it does, saw something where they had added ram sinks on to the card, cant remember where it was now, my kingston ram already has heat spreaders on there.

thanks for the reply
If there arent any heatsinks on the vrms then its not necessary unless you want to overclock the gpu ram more.

I run the 4770s club and I remember the xfx non reference didnt cover the ram either so thats probably the same situation you have.
