Core unlocking failed/ blue screen

Thread Starter
Hi i'm very new to core unlocking. I saw " Press 4 to core unlock " on the boot screen I thought it would be a great idea to give it a shot. BUT... it failed. Now when i start my windows normally it gets stuck on the logo screen and sometimes it reboots. If I try the Launch start up repair it gives me a blue screen... I didn't open the computer or anything I just pressed 4 to unlock. It even says **4 cores are activated!**

I have a AMD Phenom II x2 560 BE
Asus M4A88T-M/USB3 Motherboard

Is there any way to reverse it back to dual cores again??

You need to disable one of the extra core or bump up your cpu voltage to stable it out.

Thank you for the fast reply!
But how do I disable a core?? I'm sorry but I can extremely new to core unlocking or anything technical...
go into bios, find your CPU settings, set the core unlocker to manual and disable the cores you have unlocked or simply disable core unlocker.

You may find that if you disable and then re-enable the cores you may have all cores activated just fine with no errors/bluscreen.

This. My 555BE unlocked all four cores but one was a dud so ended up triple core.

Go to the bios, Advanced, CPU configuration, Asus Core unlocker should be set to enable.

CPU Core Activation should be set to Manual

Leave 2nd core to on,

Disable the 3rd exiting out and saving bios. If it works ok after that then you know it was that core thats a problem.

If it still has a problem, go back and reenable the 3rd core and disable the fourth core.

In my case it was the 4th core that was a dud.

If still problems then both cores no good. Go back and disable ASUS core unlocker and run with 2 cores.
