What would be the better setup:

ATi 5770 and 9800GT(running PhysX)

or

2 9800GTs in SLi

Thanks

with what system, what resolution?

EDIT: i would think, (as i have a 9800GT sli setup) that for sheer performance then i would choose the 9800's in sli, however the 5770 is directX 11 and supports other features

It has two monitors, one with 1920x1080 for my main display and the second one as extended 1440x900. I am probably bottle necking but i have a E8200, 6 GB of ram.

I'd go 5770 and put in the 9800GTs to fold.

x2 9800GT=GTX285 performance.
5770 + 9800GT=GTX260 216sp performance with extra physX power.

hey bro i say the SLi for raw performance. thats 224 CUDA CORES altogether!!!!

I was thinking of doing folding. I want opinions on which setup would be better for gaming.

I assumed that he already has one 9800GT and is wondering whether to add in another one or get a 5770 and use the 9800 for PhysX.

Like others have said, 9800GT SLI will probably give you better performance, because not too many games use PhysX and I'd imagine two 9800GTs would be better than a single 5770. If you want extra features like DirectX 11, go for the 5770.

im probably just gonna stick with the 4GB cus their Dominators, i just wanted to see how much performance i could get out of the other sticks. they are all running at 800MHz right now at 5-5-5-15 but i can overclock further with the dominators.
