Depends on games you play. SLI isn't perfect. Some games will enhance, others wont.

'pends.

pure performance, the 9800's should be faster. they'll be noisier though, consume more power, and will still struggle with AA, and also in situations where you need lots of memory for textures etc (GTA IV being a prime example)

i personally would take the 5770 + 9800GT setup. noise is a big factor for me (why i have a P180 Mini, and a 460 Hawk instead of a 470) and the whine of the 8800 gets to me. like, really gets to me.

3DMark06 is very CPU dependent. I get 15K OC, and 12K stock with x2 555 + HD5770.

Yep, because the default resolution is at 1280x1024

in about 10 min when I redownload 3dmark 06 i'll be running the 5770 on the smae system the previous 8800 gts was run on (Different memory modules is all, since my HZs' died on me last month)

That will give an idea of the difference in the power of the cards

You should get similar to what I got, close to 16000.
