Ok, one last try.. this is what I see when I actually start the test...






Notice how it says 21,558 artifacts after 3 seconds?

That's definitely the video card. Is the fan spinning on your video card? Can you check?

It's definitely spinning, yes. If I keep the test going, I can get hundreds of thousands of artifacts, on a stock clock.

According to this page: http://www.playtool.com/pages/artifacts/artifacts.html the artifacts are due to bad RAM in the video card. I'd replace it under warranty if it still exists, if not, I'd get a new video card.

Warranty is good - I'm original owner. Guess I'll have to wait it out, as my new gpu just shipped a few minutes ago.

Sadly it can actually be from anything... Any form of instability on any part of the card can cause artifacting. I'd RMA it definitely though if its doing it on Stock Clocks.
