Macbook HDD question

Thread Starter
So my Macbook's (2007 model, not Pro) hard drive crapped out on me and it's just out of warranty. I have an old Dell Inspiron e1405 lying around with a working hard drive, would its hard drive work in the Macbook? I would assume, since they're both 2.5", but I want to make sure. Here's a little info on the drives:

Dead Macbook HDD: Hitachi HTS541680J9SA00 2.5" 80GB HDD This seems to be the same drive
Working Dell HDD: Samsung HM120JI 2.5" 120GB HDD A link for this one, too

Sorry if this is an obvious question, I know pretty much nothing about laptop hardware.

Oh that drive will definitely fit. Both are 2.5 sata drives, and they are all the same.

I read the newegg comments and people said they installed it in a macbook without any problems.

If they are both SATA then it should work. You're getting a size increase too so good for you.

EDIT: Never mind, was just being stupid. Installing OSX now

I also noticed I had 2x1GB RAM in my Dell and 2X512MB in my Mac, so I swapped those and got an extra gig RAM =D

Call Apple about it if you haven't already, depending on your batch, you may find it still under support.

I checked online, I'm just out of warranty. This model had HDD issues so they extended the replacements on that to August 2010. Which now I feel horrible about because the drive failed around March or April 2010, I just hadn't bothered looking into it or fixing it until now because I was using the Dell as my main at the time.
Plus, I'm not sure if Apple would cover it anyway, because I didn't pay for it (was given to me second hand in summer of '08) and I don't have any of the papers/information on it.
