Problem with my overclock

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I have successfully overclocked my q6600 running on a gigabyte ep35-ds3 to 3.2ghz and it has been stable now for a few months without any problem except for one strange issue...

Whenever I 'restart' my computer either via the start menu or from a windows update or new software installation or similar, the computer powers off for a second on restart as expected, but then starts up for about 2 seconds, powers off, and starts up again but I lose some of my overclock settings and the cpu is shown as 2.13Ghz. I then have to go into the bios and re-enable cpu host control and change my spd ram speed.

If however I shutdown the computer, then turn it back on it never happens, it only happens on a soft restart. Any idea what could be causing this? It seems to be more of a nuisance than an issue really...

This happens to me on my ep43-ds3l, but not always and the settings are never changed.. It boots with an orange LED on the motherboard and then reboots.. Not sure what the problem is though I think its this type of motherboard..
