how about to put it this way, I installed my old 4850 in a computer that was running a single core celeron chip. it ran just fine. didnt dare load up the card because the PSU wouldn't handle it.

If its in A PCI-EX Slot and theres enough power then they may just be trying to charge you for something you dont need. Has the PC worked fine the whole time?

yeah it looks like that. there is enough power for it. yeah the pc worked fine i think the computer gets really hot at times. but other than that things are fine.

Just put some normal fans in your computer that don't get throttled and it won't get so hot, most dells don't spin up the fans until it does get hot.

so buy some nice fans and replace them it will be much nicer.
