hehe. everyone else needs to stop speculating to then. We know jack about the game.

Although, isnt this what the thread is for? For us to go over the details. I would have thought that with supposedly how important modding is to the series, it would be in the details.
Wow you are uninformed. I am a regular at the Beth boards and a while ago there was an interview with Todd Howard which stated they're using gamebryo but it is not the mangled Morrowind/Obivion version from 2.3. They're using 2.6 and basically rewriting half it to how they see fit. Anyway thats the way I read/remember it.

yeah, im real uninformed.

all new built internally doesnt equal using gamebryo all over again. There is a ton of tech that isnt gambryo in the bethsoft games that could easily be used all over again because they know how code for it.

Ok well that differs from the Kotaku interview I read.

Hmmmm, let's see...

Todd Howard's actual words from an interview...

Or the marketing-drivel that Bethesda knows will appease the critics?

Which is more credible?

Do keep in mind that "all new engine" could just be their spin on the situation. They consider the new version of Gamebryo so different that it warrants the term "all new." Kinda like Unreal Engine 2 to 3. But I doubt the difference is that big.

Had you read what i had posted, you would realize that is exactly what RPS was asking them. If it was New, or just modified from what they had previously.

It makes absolutely sense now that Bethsoft is a big name player, create something in house so you have no royalty/license fees to pay. Which they would have had to pay for a newer gamebryo engine. No reason not to make their own instead based on what they wanted to do with the game, and what gamebryo is capable of delivering.

Lol I'm surprised this news thread has lasted over a week... Brings a tear to my eye.

I wonder if they will even bring a demo this time around? A lot of nice changes all around, a demo might help the people anxious to buy into Bethesda again. (On consoles, anyway; PC version was fine)

It seems more like your complaint is that you didn't get the reward that goes with the place at level 1, well would that not just totally ruin the rest of the game and thus totally destroy the immersion? because then you'd just be one hitting everything.

The reason there are dynamic shaping mechanics in place is because no one plays the game the same way. This doesn't mean however you should be rewarded end game gear or big loot at the start of the game because you broke a lock. That's got nothing to do with immersion, it's greed.
"Because I can."

I don't know about you, but I like sandboxes for the freedom of choice, no matter how unorthodox my motives may be.

The fact that you could kill almost everyone in Morrowind and still finish the main quest through a secondary path was awesome. None of this invulnerable crap.

The guards in Oblivion or Morrowind?

BTW I really hope they give Dunmers their old, grave voices again. They sounded like wussies in Oblivion.
