I am really looking forward to this game. I've played every other Elder scroll game till my fingers bled and I'll do the same with this. It's really too early for some of the nay sayers. Ever since the mess that was New Vegas everyone seems to be hating on Bethesda, even though it was a different studio whom made it. Also with the level shaping: it's fair to assume that there'll be difficulty levels which increase and decrease the level of opponents. So if you have it on the hardest setting the enemies will be 5-10 levels higher and on super easy 5-10 below. It's a wait and see game though, it's really far too early for negative comments.

You all may find this interesting....

I was keeping up with rumors and stuff for a year leading up to the announcement. When they dropped the announcement I remembered that someone on one of the forums I had been lurking had claimed to have someone on the inside and he had predicted the announcement.

I went back and looked and he had actually predicted it about a month prior, so I tried to find more of his stuff and the prediction was one of his last. Anyway, I went back through the posts and he basically said the same things that we've now heard from Bethesda.

-New game engine will far surpass Gamebryo, make it obsolete.
-Map exceeds that of Oblivion by maybe 2 times.
-UI tweeked.
-Overall feel of the game will be the same.

The poster pointed to the types and amounts of developers that Bethesda was bringing in in 2008 and 2009, mostly software engineers and not as many creative developers.

I'm guess this is going to be a bigger, better looking Oblivion. It won't be dumbed down, but it won't be more like Morrowind. There will be a premium on scenic vistas and exploration.

I'm actually expecting Bethesda to do a great job. The success of Morrowind and Oblivion has presented somewhat of a challenge to match, but it looks like they are ramping up with PLENTY of time and personel and from what I can tell, most of the creative power that made the last two TES great still resides at Bethesda.

We probably won't have to wait very long, there were rumors/evidence of game development almost 3 years prior to the announcement. I'm guess that the development team uses some type of agile development and already has considerable material to use for game play clips. The engine was probably completed prior to the announcement.

It mentioned level scaling...but didnt actually say monsters leveled up along with you (which is lame as hell). So is it only level scaling so it can give you special quests and stuff?
