Accelero Twin Turbo Pro, temps and OC on the AMD 6870

Hey, bought the new cooler today so I have some result to share.

So here you can see all the settings, OC and temps that I had with my stock cooler and with the aftermarket one.

As you can see the Twin Turbo performs really well, keeping the core 11C better than the stock cooler at idle, and some amazing 21C at load.

The moment i put some more airflow on the card, the core remained almost at the same temperature like at stock speeds although it was OC about 15% more.

The max OC i could reach was 1060/1250. It's stable for Uniengine and Vantage, but for gaming and 24/7 playing I'll be using 1050/1200.

For all the OC I used 1.3V, so I could reach highest temps.

So what do you think? It's 1050/1200 a good OC for 24/7? And what about the max OC?

Bye!

I just put one of these on my 5870. Temps are great and the noise, or lack of noise is incredible. Wish I had bought one of these sooner.

Nice job, +1

What do you use to overclock? I have 2 6870s watercooled that I want to take past what MSI's afterburner allows.

hehe ty guys! I've used sapphire trixxx to OC, since only on that program I can adjust the Vcore. Trixx allows to 1300/1500 so ur good to go.

But I think that without a proper Vmod on the card you can't go higher than maybe 1100 for the core.

Man...i feel like a broken record....

Whats the deal with nobody caring about the memory temperatures?

Is there something drastic im missing?

My 6870 memory runs hotter than core at all times, sometimes by as much as 20c during load.

I say you used pretty low fan speed on the stock cooler, when my GPU reach 60c fans automatically set to 80%.

It shocks me, honestly, when people ask how to monitor memory temps, when they have already been overclocking their card.
I would never think of overclocking without a full repertoire of monitoring tools showing me the details across the entire board. My god people, AIDA? Trixx sidebar? GPU-Z ffs?
Your overclocking here, this isnt kiddy fun time at the zoo.

Just installed one of these on my 6870, dropped all my temps across the board including my ram, dropped those the most. Previously I was limited in my OC at 975/1175 @ stock voltage on the stock cooler. Swapped out for the Accelero and now I'm at 1000/1200 on stock voltage and running very cool and very quite. Didn't use the VR01 or whatever kit it was from them, used the heat sinks that came with it and added another that I had laying around to fully cover the voltage regs.

Did you have to mod the cooler to fit it, or did it just bold on with no problems out of the box?
