Rumors have been confirmed!

According to Linus Sebastian from NCIX Tech Tips...the GTX 595 will be containing of two GF-110 chips that means 2 x GTX 580 ..Nvidia has solved the PCI power consumption regulation problem and will be shipping on February 4th.

For those that are still undecided wheiter to get sandybridge or a new GPU such as GTX 595 or slightly worse performing(also confirmed by Nvidia) AMD 6990......here is my advice ..get a new card! sandybridge is an unnecassary upgrade ...an overclocked i7 can still hold up so there is no logical reason for buying a new board and chip.
Save it for Ivy and spend on GPUs now! and if you still wanna wait a little bit longer until 2. or 3. Quartal ...that is when Kepler and AMD 7000 will be launching and OMG they will rock^^

two gf114 is NOT a 570 or a 580. Gtx 580/570 are gf110. Gf114 is refresh of gf104. This means it might be 2 unlocked/cooler/oc higher 460 or simply a gt560 x2 .

After my excellent experience with the GTX295 I would defiantly consider one of these.

The GTX295 cost less than 2 GTX280/5's likewise the 9800GX2 cost less than 2 9800GTX's did

How? Does it take 4 6-pins?

I am running into issues trying to figure out why some guys are saying they would rather get the old chipset (which runs hotter and produces more power per gpu) .... over a single card that is dual gpu. Chances are you will want to buy it when it comes out, you wait 6-18months and buy a second when the price drops and you are already running a 4gpu quad setup with the new cooling setup.

Nvidia really needed to step up their game because the faster you make something, the more heat it produces, and the more power it takes up. It took nvidia 4yrs to finally come up with an improved answer. Yes it took a lot of time but really it revolves around marketing. All they need to do is keep beating ATI next card and next card etc etc .... and they are .... and I see them doing just that for at least the next few years. Why would Nvidia come out with too great of a product all at once when ATI is just barely keeping up .... they wouldn't.

The GTX 595 will be powered by 8 pins....and it won´t run that hot considering the use of a vapor chamber.

The two GF-110 Chips will be used in a sandwich configuration.
And the power consomption level will be less then 2x GTX 580 in SLI

The only extremely high thing about this card is gonna be the price.
Which is why I would buy this card with extreme caution.
Keep in mind that the realese of the Kepler chip isn´t that far away either probably 2. or 3. Quartal ...GTX 595 will approximately sell for around 600-700$ so just imagine what Kepler is gonna cost ..that is why you should buy the 595 with caution

Well... since i'm a GTX 295 owner, the "logic" upgrade would be the next dual gpu... that's why i didn't pull the plug for a single gpu yet.

As for being Fermi 104 or 110 chips... i don't believe that Nvidia would release something based on a old version of the actual gpu... and if they do, my guess is that they, somehow, refreshed it ...

460 in SLi mode are good, but ... i don't believe that it's going to happen with the fermi 104's... don't know why... the 5990 it's still very good in terms of performance... if it's just going to give you a couple of extra frames... they would not do it imo
