Quick Review- Risen PC

I just finished Risen last night. I'm giving it 3.5 stars. For anyone who really enjoyed Oblivion, this game is a good comparison. Not nearly as large as the map of Oblivion, but a good, free roaming map none the less. Creatures were good and creative, each with its own kind of personality. Even as my character progressed, the bigger creatures, were still not "one or two swing kills". Each kill still took strategy.

I believe I finished all available quests for the "Don". In the begining, I didn't realize I was going to have to decide on which faction to join, so I was kind of working for both. To be able to progress to the next chapter(4 in all), you will have to complete a main quest for one of the factions, the Don or the Inquisitor.

The game is def story driven, and the story was actually pretty good. I would recommend this game for anyone who like Oblivion, but doesn't want to spend 3 years of their life trying to complete every quest.

I gave this game 3.5 stars because there were a couple of little annoying parts to the game. You wake up as a survivor of a ship wreck, with no clue of how you got there and the game proceeds from there. You remain clueless for atleast half the game.

Questions or comments, post 'em up.

Honestly this is an amazing game, atleast untill you get to 75% of it . The last quarter is more or less crap :/

I think i liked the latter half of the game as it became more of a dungeon crawler. The preists tombs were quite large.

I was never able to get into Oblivion, which always felt tedious and drawn out, but I like Risen. Is it right to say that Risen is sort of a shallow Oblivion? In any case, if you like the idea of a single player RPG with a huge world to explore but you are turned off by The Elder Scrolls insistence that you micromanage every detail, Risen might work for you.
