I did have a DA original a while ago which broke i had it with a goliathus speed which was ok i suppose. Does the DA go well with a hard surface?
almost all the surfaces types will go along with the DA.
AFAIK I-1/2 which is glass one make the optical lod based sensor go crazy.

I will recommnded any good quality of cloth white surface. (white reduce LOD)
but I dont really know one since there is only razer, steelseries and roccat in israel.
maybe the SX / white razer destractur - but they're hards.

Ye i would like to go hard surface. I got use to hard with my roccat kone plus. Shame it died on me. I know the avago 9500 loves hard surfaces. I just wonder if hard surfaces also lowers the DA's lod and tracks very well? My roccat kone plus must of had a 1.5 to 2.5 lod on cloth even with Lod set to low. On a hard mat im not joking it must of been under half a millmeter

anything works fine, i even used my desk and it performed great on it!

but i recommend razer eXact Mat + rest.
the control side is the best!!
if you cant find one a goliathus or vespula will do fine

Cloth mats always have better results for me.

If you think the Kone was a good mouse you'll be blown away by the dA.

Ive had a DA an original. It broke i got a DA respawn which jittered all over the place and didnt like being lifted of the mat to be repositioned. And i decided to go else were. Fact is no other mouse has satisfied me like the original DA did. I would buy another respawn i just dont trust the sensor. Alot people have the issues i did andi firmly beleive its the mouse. Alot you guys proberly dont lift the mouse alot to reposition so dont get the issues.

I bought a thermaltake dasher today to use with a deathadder which im ordering. I tried one at gamerbase london with their mouse and it feels very nice. Reminds me of a np+ which works wonders on laser mice. The surface is between a destructor and a qck, it has a teflony feel but is slightly smoother. Got it for £12 and it comes with a nice cloth carrying bag (you can roll it up)

Btw i believe the new firmware fixes the problem of lifting, unless its not out yet.

i wouldn't suggest any hard surface, i have the razer destructor and it chews through mice feet... it was butter smooth for the first month or so but it quickly picks up more resistance once your mouse feet start wearing down. i have an ikari laser mouse

I swear by the SteelSeries 5L. It has some softness like a cloth pad, but absolutely any mouse will track as well as it can on it, laser or optical. It's pretty much like a cloth-ish pad that tracks like a hard/plastic pad. Some mice have issues on clothies like the QcK, the G500 being a good example.

Best mouse pad ever as far as I'm concerned.
