will a Phenom 9950 at 3GHz bottleneck my 9800GX2?

i can get my hands on a phenom 9950 cheap and im wondering if it will bottleneck me if i run it at 3.1GHz or 3.2GHz.

I don't think you are going to see a noticable difference between your current 9750 @ 2.8ghz and a 9950 @ 3.0 or 3.1 ghz. So unless its REALLY cheap, probably not worth your effort.

There's probably not a huge amount of bottleneck, but you will see decent performance gains the higher your CPU clock is. You'll probably want to go Phenom II if you want real gains, unless of course you're getting that for free.
