Should I be worried?

Thread Starter

What's going on with my speed? Am I even reading this right? It says my RAM is going at 2000MHz when (I think) they're only supposed to go 1600MHz without overclockinging. And I'm not overclocking.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145260

I'm more curious then anything. If I am going faster then advertised speeds with no side effects, then excellent. If I'm just reading this wrong, then ok. If I am going faster then advertised speeds with a possible huge system failure looming over the horizon, then crap...

your looking at the wrong thing. in fact your ram is running at 1066 (533 X 2). The 2000 is your north bridge. You need to go into your bios and set your ram timings and voltage manually according to the sticker on the sticks or the settings on the box. What speed is your ram? if its 1066 ddr3 then you dont need to change anything.

or take a ss of the spd tab of cpu-z and ill tell u what to set it at.

If you look at the Newegg link I posted, it's speed is supposed to go at 1600mhz.

So I assume I'm supposed to set the RAM settings to the one on the far right to get advertised speeds.

Set the memory multi in the BIOS to x8 (1600Mhz) and the timings to 9-9-9-24-41-2T and the voltage to 1.65V.... if you can, I'm skeptical about that Jetway board--

BAM! How bout them apples?

Seeing as I'm apparently the only one in the world with this board, it's understandable for you to be skeptical, but it has a bunch of overclocking options in the BIOS and what not. I think it has profile saving as well, but I haven't tested that out yet.

Anyway, RAM is up to speed.

You win
Good luck! And do see if you can try to get it down to CAS8
