Yeah... slickdeals postage means get there early if you ask me. Voted for option #1 .

Hmm interesting results haha. The Micro Center here opens at 11, so I think I'm going to show up early just to be safe. It seems that people generally think availability wont be too much of an issue which is good.

Here's an idea, why not give your dad your machine and keep the SandyBridge build for yourself.

Although, I highly doubt they'll run out. I mean, let's be honest here, it's not like it's an iPhone. It's a CPU.

Well I mean, he's paying for the new build entirely out of his own pocket, so I'm not sure how well I could convince him to take my old system. Still not a bad deal though because I'm making a pretty hefty commission. Plus we ordered a reference HD5850 off newegg which he said he'd "swap" for myHD4850 (with DuOrb cooler). So even better haha.

Well just to let you know my experience from today... Building your own computer isn't very popular in Japan. Even so the one store that had them in stock today sold out of 2500k's at opening and I was lucky to grab one of the last 2 2600k's they had left a few hours after opening. I also grabbed the last ASRock Extreme4 board they had.

So I can only imagine how fast they will fly off the shelves at Microcenter. I used to live close to the Microcenter in Santa Ana (or is it Costa Mesa?), CA. I miss that store...
