So Ive made the big switch XP...

From Firefox to Opera lol. Ive been an avid firefox user for about 6 years now and to this day I still love it. However it was brought to my attention that there were faster solutions out there, and my installation of firefox was being slow lately for some reason so i decided to try some other browsers. We all know that internet explorer just sucks in general so lets not go there. I would never bother with even trying safari as i think it is a garbage browser and like failtunes is a resource hog (BTW all itunes users please look at mediamonkey as an alternative) OT i tried chrome and hated the layout and lack of customization and addons. My friend then told me about opera which hes been trying to convert me to lately so i decided to try it out. I was amazed to see how much faster it loaded pages and the benchmarks than firefox. It even passed the acid 3 test which for some reason i could never get firefox to do. Its also customizable like firefox so im rocking a glass theme right now and i have my buttons and everything just the way i like them. Addons however are a bit of a pain to do, i didn't have the time to try to figure it out so i just had my friend install all my addons (all the ones i had with firefox or equivalent ones). It also has a feture called opera unite which i think is pretty badass because its basically apps for your browser that are USEFUL. I can send a link to my friend or another one of my computers and stream my whole desktop music library =D awesome. So i challenge everyone on here to try opera and let me know what they think. BTW dont make this a browser flame war, but make it a CIVILIZED debate type thing. Im loving opera and will continue to use it from now on, but Firefox wil always have a place in my heart

Yep, it's pretty great, especially with 11 supporting extensions (which you can install/update without restarting). The only real gripes I still have is that you can't save closed tabs with your sessions, and there's a set number of remembered closed tabs in an open session that you can have.

I also made the switch to Opera and i love it so much. The best features i use a lot is the Speed Dial and the fact then when it closes down it still saves all the pages u had open. Its also fans and like the look and layout.

I had to stop using Opera, as it will use more than 2Gb of RAM with all the tabs I keep open on a daily basis. With firefox I get 300Mb :/

LMAO at lets not go there for IE! It sucks so bad! I enjoyed this thread and all the Firefox love. I too have been experiencing a little slowness with Firefox these days but still love it. You have inspired me to try opera so that maybe I can love it the same as I do Firefox.

currently, i have firefox, pale moon, firefox beta, google chrome beta, google canary build, opera, and IE

imo, daily use basis, chrome and firefox beta are tied speed wise, ff beta has addons and google chrome has addons as well, and getting to be more and more, opera actually takes longer for me to load some items, im not sure why so my vote goes to either ff beta or google chrome beta
