It's going to lag like crazy. GTA IV is a CPU resource hog like crazy. Loves ram and VRAM also. So I would give up on it

I think you may be able to get away w/ playing on the bare minimum settings, w/ a res of 800x600, or maybe 1024x768 if you're lucky. But I bet you're also going to have lots of texture loading problems no matter what.

Basically, if you really want to play GTA IV, either do a complete overhaul of your computer (aka get a new one), or buy a 360.

bee tee dub, you totally posted this in the wrong section. but I think you did it to get attention, which definitely worked.

I bet you could pull off Low-settings with every single slider empty. But I doubt it will be playable. More RAM. More cores. More vram.

Welcome!
as for GTA IV and wanting it to run ok with your hardware,it wont work
try patch 1.07 if you are determined though, and i think ddr prices are really low atm,6gb is reasonable for this game and no lags between maps loading.then its just the cpu and gpu issues..can you overclock your e3300?

I don't think overclocking matters a lot in this case. GTA IV just really needs a quad.
