Unfortunately the nh-d14 or anything similarly sized is just too big to fit. The best thing is to get the thermalright archon with a second Ty-140 fan so it can be used in a push pull configuration. That's what I did... I have the vengeance ram as well, and any large cooler will hit the heat spreaders... The archon with the second fan will get the the same if nit better performance as the nh-d14 or the silver arrow.

I'm putting my build together on the 26th, so look for pictures of the build. I'll be sure to take plenty if pics of the ram and cooler.

Good luck

Well, it really depends. You say you have 6GB of Corsair RAM... what model is it (Dominator, Vengeance, others)? Be as specific as you can. The type of cooler that you can put is determined by a couple of factors - namely: Use, Case space restrictions, and physical ram size restrictions.

Obviously, since you plan of a 4Ghz OC, its essential to have a good cooler. Unless you want to go watercooling, (which I have no idea about), the best air coolers at this point would be:

1) Noctua NH-D14
2) Thermalright Silver Arrow
3) Thermalright Archon
4) Prolimatech Megahalems - someone correct me if I'm wrong on this

Judging by your case, I'm pretty sure the megahalems are a no-go - if you don't know, those are massive. The NH-D14 and the Silver Arrow are the current leaders, but they are long. Both of these cover the first RAM slot on pretty much every motherboard. There are some small profile RAM modules that will work, but I don't know of any.

Again, keep us posted with more details on the specifics I've asked above, and I'll do my best to suggest one.

EDIT: You might wanna ask the mods to move this to a new thread. I believe you might get more replies.

Thanks... ah... the V8 - I was about to get that as well, but it turns out, you can get better for the price. It does look really awesome though...

At this point, I can recommend the Cooler Master Hyper 212+. I've only heard good things about it, and it will fit in just about any configuration.
However, you are in luck. The XMS3 RAM modules are normal sized ones that WILL fit a NH-D14.
Take a look at this link and scroll down to where it shows your ram - DDR3 Corsiar Dominator XMS3
http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=c...s_id=34&lng=en

Also, look at this link:
http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=c...s_id=34&lng=en
The NH-D14 is compatible with your motherboard - scroll down to just over halfway through the page.

I believe the Silver Arrow would also work in this case. But a word of caution - make sure the height of the coolers do not exceed the max height allowable by the case.

If the link you sent - the one to the online retailer - is correct, don't worry. That RAM is specified as the normal XMS3 series - not the dominators. The dominators have heat spreaders that tend to get in the way of coolers. The ones that you bought don't have heat spreaders.

Look here for the difference:
<-- your modules

<-- XMS3 Dominator (not your model)

<-- XMS3 Dominator GT (also not your model)
