Dad looking to buy a new TV

Budget is around 1200$, he can spend a bit more than needed.

He's looking for a 3DTV, which I disagree against getting, but anyways it's his TV and so 3d is preferred. Should also be around 50"

He prefers to buy from amazon.com as well and he prefers panasonic and sony.

Lemme see what you guys have to recommend!

Searching by your fathers criteria, you currently have no options available at that price point.

Cheapest set is

and you would have to buy 3D glasses seperately, and they are expensive.

I don't think he'll mind purchasing the glasses seperately. He can also buy other brands ofcourse, but he's satisfied with panasonic and sony

His next cheapest option would be the mitsubishi set. However considering the severe budget defecit you have towards a 3D tv, its going to be hard to fit your budget.
This TV is slightly over budget, but includes 3D glasses.

Now if you went with a non-3D TV, you would have a ton more options at that price point.

I have no idea why he'd want a 3dTV, but whatever. I'll show him these TVs and see what he thinks

Edit: My bad, thats a used price, and it wont show the new price in cart, without logging in.

I'd go with the panasonic GT25. It's a great 3D TV and an amazing 2D TV as well. The blacks are great, viera cast is only going to improve and Panasonic plasma quality is amazing. Definitely a steal for its price range in my opinion.

For a 3dtv the panasonic is the way to go. Honestly, there is not enough 3d films now, if ever to warrant spending all that money on glasses and crap.
