New CPU/MOBO need windows reinstall?

Hey guys, I felt like this would be more of an hdd question so posting here lol. Im going to be upgrading to SB here in the near future but was wondering if I will have to reinstall windows when I do so or if I can just plug straight in, install the new drivers and be good to go. I was able to do that when I upgraded from my old 6000+ to the current PII, but dont know if I was lucky of if that was cause it was AMD to AMD.

Thanks

If you running windows 7 youll be fine, make sure to uninstall all your board drivers, type msconfig into the run bar in the start menu when you are down uninstalling. Set the computer to boot into safe mode under the boot menu. You can use driversweeper to make sure that you removed all the drivers. Then install your new hardware.

I had no problems switching components with windows 7, you should be fine doing as I said. You will however have a cleaner registry, and depending on how old your installation is, a marginally faster pc, if you just format and re-install.

Right except you should use the device manager to uninstall the drivers, not MSconfig. Just type it into the windows search if u dont know where it is.
