AMD Phenom 970 + Asus Motherboard help :) - Page 2

Oh, technically my ASUS board did boot with the Phenom II 965 on the older BIOS, but it ran at 90 C and the BIOS reported that it was a completely different chip. I thought it best to install the BIOS using a CPU that it was already stable with, to avoid complications.

Off topic: Yes, the ultimate gaming machine is entirely made from discarded garbage. Even the replaced capacitors came out of dead power supplies, as did all of the 80 mm case fans in it.

Supports my cpu, and my 1666 ddr 3.

if you want to flash your gigabyte board then do this

For Asus do this

For Asus Motherboards you can also update the bios in th bios, under the section Tools, Asus EZ Flash Utility, where you just need store the bios file dumped from the internet in one of your disks and then browse to its location
