Overclocking SLI - Is it worth it?

Thread Starter
I have two GTX 470's. They're currently undervolted and water cooled. I've overclocked them before for giggles, and went 875mhz on core, and 2000mhz on memory, and didn't push them further. My question to you is, is it worth it for gaming? I'm not into benchmarking, so that doesn't matter. If anyone knows of any reviews online I'd appreciate it also. Easy to find SLI/crossfire reviews, but not including the overclocks while in SLI/crossfire.

Like previously stated. If you can't max a game out overclocking does give you a substantial boost. I know my 470 folding gives me an extra about 3k PPD with overclocking.

it depends on the game, certain games can run fine through the conditions caused by overclocking , & other games can be sensitive to overclocks & will cause errors when plying

That just means they aren't stable... Its like my CPU, it was at 4.66 and it was fine for Prime95, IBT, and LinX but the second I played BF:BC2 it locked up

its mostly the hardware demanding games (such as crysis, BF:BC2, GTA4, & metro 2033)that r the sensitive ones, old or non-hardware demanding games (like COD, halo 1 & 2, & half life 2) can run well w/ overclocks

You said it! That GTA4 can crash an overclock on mine easier than LinX. Darnit.
