But it's not wanting to work. Has anyone else done this so far? I saw that someone on here has done it, but they couldn't get wireless to work. Any help from you? It'd be greatly appreciated.
And I'd give you some rep.

Not to be an a$5; but aren't you supposed to test Chrome OS? I know there are guides to do this and all but honestly I don't understand how they tell me I'm not a valid candidate to test their stuff when all I see is people putting buntus or other distros on the netbook.

That said:
What you need are the ndiswrapper and probably something called gskit (not sure the exact name) along with maybe a few other packages. Then you will need a window's version of the wifi driver for the exact wifi card you have. When you have that we can help you further with the wifi.

Are you having problems installing Ubuntu because I took this as asking for help to get the wifi setup.

Ah, yes. Sorry, I should have specified.

I am currently attempting to run Ubuntu on the CR-48, but I am stuck in the guide, where I need to get the File System.

To your first paragraph: If the guide is supplied by Google, it's fine to do. As long as you don't tinker with the hardware, you're fine. I'll be dual booting, of course. I want to run Linux on something, and it's kind of disappointing on my desktop due to the complete lack of drivers. I've gotten it to work, but its still all... meh. lol.

I swear there was another topic and the guy was having the same problem. I suggest you use search for it. It may have some answers.

Lol. Gotcha. Sorry if I seemed a little grouchy. I was having a bad morning. lol.

So it seems like I have to get the File System on my desktop, and make it in a virtual box, then upload it to the CR-48? I am confused.

Yes, you are making the root FS in the virtual box and then converting it back to a .bin for extraction.

Damn. If I have to do that, then I have to do it later in the day. I have about 10 minutes before I have to leave. lol.

Once I get back from school (probably around 6 hours :/), I'll post some updates.
