Ok
Lets get down to it.
I have promised my son(14) smarter than I will ever be thank god lol
that I will build him a new computer that will run his games
I bought him a laptop for Xmas with beats audio(which he loves(I hope so))
but it wont run all his games.
I told him that we could build 2 towers together(his and mine)
with the new SB interface. I was wondering what you guys would think.
this seems to be the best place to get good info.
here is what I was thinking(please comment, thats what I am looking for)
i5 2500k's or i7 2600k's
with Asus MB's(p8p67 evo)???is that the best choice???
6 gb's ram
video cards?(no clue)
I have plenty of cases(20 on hand maybe more).(yes I used to build tons of computers) but PSU probably not adequate(still recommend one if its a great deal), so I will need PSU also.

My son plays games
I do all kinds of things and sometimes I put this old tower through its paces(you can hear it screaming from a distance).
For the boy I want a great gaming rig.
For me its more about encoding video, handling rar's.

I am not one with patience, I like to get my work done. keep that in mind(lol)\\
build me a couple of rigs please.
thanks.

Please write with reasonable syntax, I cannot understand your random use of line breaks. You say you have no patience, I think you would understand my lack of patience in trying to decipher what you are asking.

So you want a gaming rig for your son, and media center for you?

Any type of budget?
just get a mobo with the features you want, I don't you are OCing, so just look for features, like SATA and USB.

Go for a single GPu whatever you get, i just got two 570GTX and they are sick, but I don't play games.

Go with 8GB of RAM you want a 4gbx2 kit.
I would recommend a good 500watt pSU for a single card system and no OC. Sandy Bridge is extremey efficiecnt, and GPUs pull about 200 watts(the high end ones at least)

I really don't have a strict budget, but I don't want to go crazy as I have a Vegas trip planned for the Superbowl which I will take enough to build 10 systems with me. I would think one could stay under $1500 building a pretty decent setup not having to pay for a $1000 processor like the previous generation.

Hey, this whould be my spec list for a gaming rig.
2600K
P67 gigabyte mobo (look for USB3 and SATA6)
4gb ripjaws Gskill 1600
GTX570 nvidia, or 6950 AMD
HAF X
Corsair HX650

The cases you own probally are not right for a modern build, i whould grab a HAF X

That rig will hands down play any game at full res, full AA, full settings, without lag

yes just buy 2600K or even 2500k if you want to OC, if not you can save money and get the non k series.

CAses don;t really matter ATX is a standard and has been for a long time. I can fit my X58A-UD7 is an old sony case from 1999.
