Agreed, my main point was ATI fans has been guilty of the same thing at launch with many cards where instead of saying how great their card was they compare price vs performance instead, like Nvidia claimed the GTX 590 was quieter instead.

Here is the true ranking in order and fair is fair. I digress.....

Update: One of my sources from ASUS has informed me today that ASUS has a prototype of their revised MARS II card (see OP) with two 512SP GF110 GPUs (GTX590) and is planning to launch it this year. Expect all high-class parts, especially the VRMs, price will match the quality though so save up your pennies.

A little too late for Nvidia.

This was an ASUS decision, NVIDIA took no part in this making.

From the makers of the Blowy-Mcblowup 590 comes the version that should have been released, all for the low low price of $1000, which comes out just months before the release of a brand new series of cards that are much faster and consume a lot less heat!

Hmm.....I wonder how it's gonna sell

why do the 590s only have the one center fan whereas that one 460 2win has 3?

It has to do with the way they design the cooling system. The heatsinks on the GTX590's dissipate heat both internally and externally and require one large CFM fan in the center. However, the heatsink on the GTX260 2Win card has a full length wide-fin cooler that is best cooled by multiple lesser CFM quieter fans. Both are effective with their design but each one has its own purpose.

@ Havok : It's because , as the post above me says , they use different cooling systems . From what i know the 590 uses a dual vapor-chamber technology , when the 460 2win uses a full cover wide-fin which is cooled by those 3 vents .
