Dual GPU Fermi Collective (Photos and Specs) - Page 3

post #21 of 117
for people with just 1 x 16 slot, these are the deal. I had SLI 260-216's on a P55 i5-750 and got a 295 and it was like night and day having the single card SLI over the two at x8/x8 it was notably smoother. This will be the ideal set-up for P67.

Update: Added new video card "NVIDIA GeForce GTX595" (2nd to last card). Note how the PCB looks like it would be a perfect compliment to exterior of the EVGA card we see. Perhaps this solidifies a few specs on that EVGA card and signifies that NVIDIA may be closely working with EVGA to develop it, hmm...

EDIT: Also note the layout similarities between the NVIDIA card and the ASUS card (above it). Except the NVIDIA card has a normal sized PCB.

Well when you think on it, evga and nvidia kind of depend on each other, if one does well then usually so will the other, even if its only for show and tell it would still be interesting to see what this monsters can put out

Maybe this isn't the place, but do dual GPU cards have the same issues I've "read" about as SLI setups? Or are even those problems overblown these days?

I know next to nothing about using two cards at a time...I feel like I've "heard" that there are occasional compatibility issues, etc.

The only issues that are really related to mutli-GPU setups is that any game or application with lack of support (either in the drivers or the game itself) may cause performance issues. However, cases like this have been showing less and less seeing as how multi-GPU setups are quite popular now and almost every properly worked on game or application has support for 2 or more GPUs (whether they be on one card or separate). But to answer your question, dual-GPU cards do encounter the same issues as SLI or Crossfire setups, though those issues are getting increasingly rarer.

Yeah...not interested in Dual Fermies.

After the 9800GX2, dual gpu on one PCB doesn't have the same allure to me as it did when those came out.

Nice find, mekaw.

Although I question the credibility of what they mention, a few notes to take from here:

* 2GB Memory (1GB per GPU)
* Performance close to GTX580 (obviously better than)
* Release Date: Before End of March

So far this is looking mostly like a dual GTX560 product.
