Paper shroud for GTX 470::Amazing effect

Basically, I made a shroud of paper for my PNY GTX 470 and I think it has amazing effect. As in the pics, I use a 92mm CM blademaster blowing cold air into the shroud and a AMD stock fan sucking hot air out. Both of them are fixed @80% and they are much quieter than stock GTX470 fan @70%. My case has two CM R4 as intake fan in the front, providing enough cold air for the blademaster and a sidepanel fan would take the hot air out.

With such settings, I get 74C in OCCT @1.087v and I'm really surprised my old idle fans could yield such great temps.

I wouldn't really call that "amazing"... that's the same temps my palit v2 runs with stock HSF lapped, vented and AS5

use some silicone gap filler to get both fans on a slight angle pointing towards the exhaust port, both blowing in the same direction and see how that goes.

Interesting idea although I doubt it could be more effective. Those gaps are not easy to fill given a proper angle. A nice topic for next weekend project:/

Awesome mod!

I like your enthusiasm! +1

However, I don't think I would want it venting into my case. I would mod it to still blow out the back.

So do I:/ I just can't think of the way to effectively outtake the hot air from the shroud and out the back of the case.

Looks awesome but how do you attach the fan to the paper shroud?
