Hi, I have a Dell Studio XPS 8100 that has alot of upgrades but I haven't got a good sound card yet. Anyway I get staic at idle and trying to fix a couple of games that some people have fixed similar issues by updating audio driver. Whats the easiest or best way to do this? Should I uninstall old or just overwrite? Thanks this is my first sound card driver update!

Either go to the website for your motherboard manufacturer or use Windows Update

Download the sound drivers here: http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDow...ad-104844.html

Run the file you downloaded. It should automatically uninstall the drivers. Reboot. Run the same file again and install the new drivers. Reboot once more.

Sound should work.
