@ Vegetable, I know you've said you won't notice a difference at 16x and 8x. Will you notice a difference in 16x and 4x because the mid range boards are all 16x and 4x. higher end boards are 16x and 8x and 16x. 16x and 8x. I just can't believe how much you pay for a slightly faster pice slot.
you can get an x8/x8 board for 152 dollars. the asrock board is very nice and has x8/x8.

that means that running sata 6gbps and usb3.0 wont hurt your graphics performance. on previous boards like p55 sata6g had to share bandwidth with the pcie bus which would cripple graphics performance. by increasing the lanes to 5gt/s they have inturn removed the crippling effect of using the sata 6g.Edited by AliceInChains - 1/27/11 at 1:42pm
