For Fun/Scrap Parts Build

Thread Starter
Here is what I'll be putting together just for fun using scrap parts from previous builds that have been upgraded:

Case: HEC 6K28BBX585 Mini Tower
PS: HEC HP585D 585W
MB: Gigabyte G41M-Combo Micro ATX
CPU: Pentium 4 SL7PR 520J @ 2.8GHz
RAM: 4GB Crucial DDR3-1066
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 7 Rev. 2 using MX-4 as TIM

Still not sure about the GFX card but my father in law has a HD 4350 lying around that I might be able to use. I might also give this system my backup 320 GB SATA HDD.

I shouldn't have any issues with the DDR3. It's supported by the board. Besides if it doesn't work then no loss. This build is just for fun/to see what I can do with old hardware.

DDR2-1066 is supported by the board, but DDR3 will not fit.

Trust me on this one. I used this board for two months before I upgraded and I used that very same DDR3 in it. The board supports both DDR2 and DDR3, just not at the same time.

Whoops, I was looking at the ES2L version of the board. Sorry about that.

It's cool. Gigabyte's board identifiers are extremely confusing.
