Need some advice about my 8800

HI all I have a XFX 8800GTX and have been looking at getting another for SLi,
Now my Q's are, do the cards have to be identical as in same manufacture, or can I get one from a diff aslong as its a GTX??
Also my PSU dosn't have 2 spare 6pin PCIe power plugs how bad dose the 2x4pin adapter affect a card??

Or should I just get a new GPU all round I have been looking at a GTX275 I can get it for about £90?

Ps the spec's in my System sig are current! I also want a new CPU but not sure what to get yet lol

Pretty sure a 275 is going to smoke the SLI setup, or at least eaqual it. I'd say go for the newer card, and put the G80 out to pasture. I only held onto my 8 series for so long because it was on the newer process (G92) and was able to hold its own a little better... Up to you though really, a 8800GTX should set you back between 50-75USD depending on where you find it(aka here on the FS threads), so the 275 is a bit more money.

Edit: About the 4 pin adaptors, they don't hurt much as long as the 12v rail is capable enough, which in a 750 should be no problem. If you've got a multi-rail PSU remember to balance the rails though, by putting a little bit on each one.

Id go for the 275 also, dodge the stuttering and general SLI issues.

Cool thanks for the replays, think i'll just go for the 275 as the pissing around getting the other 8800 in and setup in SLi will take far to long when I could just swap out my old card for a better on in sec's lol

I replaced my xfx 8800 gtx last month with a xfx hd 5770 and so far im loving it
its twice as fast as the 8800 and it has a good overclock margin aswell.

My new rig will have a 570 in it,
