Which windows 7 for gaming system build

building a gaming system do i need to buy windows 7 pro or home premium 64bit. Someone told me to buy windows 7 pro always for gaming builds because of memory but im not 100% sure and ocn always gives best answers so just wanted to know because saving $40 would be nice ha.

Home Premium will be absolutely fine.

I think either you, or the person you spoke to might be getting a little bit muddled - a 32-bit OS will limit your usable memory to 3.25GB (or similar) but any 64-bit OS will allow you to use tons more than that.

There are only a few features that you get from going to Pro and none of them would be particularly helpful for a gaming computer.

Thank you so much =]! guess i get to save $40 then ha newegg should be the cheapest place to buy oem copy right.

No problem

I can't say where the cheapest place to get it from will be (I live in the UK) but I can say that Home Premium 64-bit OEM will be great, no need for anything more
