Just an idle musing really, but can you block 3G networks with a Faraday cage? smile.gif

...And so began the rise of nuke proof home computing.

I dont see why not. farraday cages have been around forever. Basically all it is is a mesh metal "cage" surrounding the entirety of your case. Every hole that is open is allowing electromagnetic waves to enter the case, so keep that in mind when building. Take lotsa pics for us wink.gif

Any idea which 3g network it's supposed to be using, because if it's at&t like my iphone... a juicy fruit wrapper atop the case ought to be more than enough to block reception.

unless you can somehow make a juicy fruit wrapper enclose your entire case and come back to touch itself, you wont have a farraday cage.

lol why are you people even worried about 3g signals with your sandy bridge? to be honest, the aluminum or steel case works as a farraday cage by itself because it creates a complete "cage" around your motherboard and components
