Keep my i7 960 or swap it for 2500k

I have a dilemma, i really cant decide if i should sell my i7 960 + Asus Maximus lll Gene combo which is still sealed and buy 2500K or should i just keep it and relax. It looks like Clock per clock SB is not that much faster. What would you do?

If it was still sealed, I would sell it and get Sandy and stop contemplating on what I would do. The better choice is Sandy of course.

That kinda sucks man, I suppose the return date has passed eh? Gotta remember, sealed or not, other folks are thinking the same as you about getting the 2500K, and you will probably lose a bit of $$ because of that. But if you want the newest, you already know what you have to do =) Just don't forget i7's ain't no slouch either !

i can still return the board (newegg holiday 60 day return policy) but cpu can't be returned. I guess my best choice would be to put it on ebay.

There was a combo deal for the i7 960 + Asus Maximus lll Gene? Isn't the Maximus Gene an LGA 1156 board?

not worth the trouble, the money is better spent elsewhere if you want to be some new hardware into your rig, xfire 5850 mabe? psu upgrade? a case even for that matter

You meant the Rampage then, that's what I thought.

Anyway, keep the 960 and Rampage III Gene. You should be able to get a nice overclock on that processor too! You wouldn't notice the difference between that setup and an i5-2500K unless you spend your time running benchmarks.

Keep it! You still will be able to enjoy Kicka.s performance! The I7 960 will outperform the 2500k on highly treaded applications!
