Good 'budget worthy' heatsink; smaller than CM 212+

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a heatsink slightly small than the CM212+. The 212+ was touching my side case fan, so anything a bit shorter in height would be nice, but equally cooling.

My budget is roughly 50$, give or take, depending.

I was thinking of this one:

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=51106&...=ZALMAN%20TECH

It got really nice reviews on newegg, but it looks like the same size as the cm212.

Not to mention the cm212 with the dual fans was mm's away from my second ram stick and blocking my 4th ram slot.

Heatsinks are just too bulky.

Any better suggestions?

Preferably from ncix (or other vancouver stores, anitec etc) or newegg.ca.

Thanks,
blue

Scythe Ninja Mini fits your size needs, but you'll need to find it at another vendor I think.

The Noctua NH-U9B is pretty small, what I read was it got decent reviews so I went with at and got some 92mm GT's for it. (can't comment on performance yet, everything is in the mail)

Just saw your post on the 212. I just got the cooler master hyper tx3, which is shorter than the 212. I have a mid tower case and still have an inch or so clearance from the side panel. Easy install on an am3 board, and cost 20$ on amazon.
Might be what your looking for!

Agree, the TX3 is the 212+'s lil brother.

How are your temps with the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 for idle and load?

The only thing is, I'm planning on OC'ing.

I sort of busted my 212+ lol, in any case, it was like half a cm too big for my case.

Azza 910 tower, it's got a big 230mm side fan which is really nice, but as you can imagine takes an extra 2 or so inches of space inside.

I was actually thinking of getting the Scythe Mugen 2.

From looking at the dimensions, it's roughly 2-3 mm shorter than the 212+.

So maybe with some luck i'll have enough clearance, lol.
